Padua
The City of Padua has been defined the “Capital City of 14th Century” and it is also the Main City of the province that takes her name.
The artistic features dated back to XIV Century – e.g. The “Giotto cycle” and the Cappella degli Scrovegni – give the City a crucial role in the development of the Western art. The artistic splendor of the City has been possible by the cultural intensity given by the Carraresi Dinasty, who made Padua one of the main centers of the pre-humanism.
Padua is one of the largest episcopal cities in Italy and it is also known as “Città del Santo”, given the fact that Sant’Antonio – a well known monk of the Franciscan order – has been living in the City for several years and finally dead there in 1231.
The remains of the monk are still conserved in the Basilica of Sant’Antonio, that is therefore an important destination for pilgrims coming from all over the World.

Oratorio di San Giorgio: Consecutive to the above mentioned; it is the mausoleum of the Carraresi Dinasty created by Raimondino Lupi di Soragna. Its building begun in 1377 and ended in 1384. Its main feature is represented by a cycle of fresco painted by Altichiero, that gives the monument a very high artistic standing

Scoletta del Santo: Established in 1427, it has underwent through severe modifications in 1504. Its fame has been caused by the marvellous works by: Antonio Bonazza, Giovanni Gloria, Francesco Vecellio,Tiziano Vecellio, Girolamo del Santo, Filippo da Verona, Bartolomeo Montagna, Giovanni Antonio Corona, Andrea Briosco, hosted inside it
